Well I found the location in the photograph today but didn't find the coin despite spending three hours there - what a plonker

Definitely the correct flush bracket, has all the same distinctive damage. No idea where the coin could be though, unless its really high up.

Did you find the location from the clue?
I'm drawing a blank, and 'tis a needle in a trigstack! :)

You can read enough of the number to enter a wildcard search into the appropriate database on the Internet.

OK it turns up quite a few but they are linked to photos so it doesn't take long to find the distinguishing features of the one in the photo.

When I saw where it was the general meaning of the clue became apparent, but I'm not entirely happy with one of the words in the clue so maybe I was missing something that would have helped to locate the coin.

The location also fits perfectly for another reason.

I was toying with the idea of going back, but decided that was bordering on addiction :)

I would suggest taking plenty of 'extraction' tools because I don't think its anywhere obvious. I cleared out the sighting tubes on the trig point which were pretty clogged up with rubbish, but there's still some obstinate stuff in there. A powerfull torch would help to check that out.

Hope you have more luck than I did.

Diamonds are found in the ground... might be worth investigating where the ground meets the objects.. I believe coins have been hidden in such places previously. :)

I can't decide if 'Diamonds' has more than one meaning, Its probably no more than slang for Londoners. There was a relevant episode that referenced heather, but don't recall seeing any heather there. Plenty of sheep about so hope it isn't on the ground or we might have to wait until one of them passes it

So did you go Matt ? - you're keeping very quiet.
