Hi Urza,

At the moment I am thinking that the picture is a clue to the riddle, as I have a location that makes some sense and needs to be searched. I'm not saying that I'm right :) but its a start.
Thing is though, I don't think I am gonna get to go and check it out v soon.
You don't live in Shropshire do you? :?:

For this one, I don't think the picture is the location.
However, they must have been there in order to take the picture, so I suspect it is fairly nearby.
I've searched the internet thoroughly, and unfortunately there isn't much info about the route. It also seems that the only info available anywhere is currently out of print :?

Well it seems we've gone 50:50 on this one now. Let's hope we've got the right 50!

Some people have pm'd me asking what my thoughts are, and I don't want to give unfair advantage (if i'm right in any way!)
So I think I will give my thoughts here on the forum, as I know I won't be going to search for this one anytime soon.

Ok, so as I've said before, I think that the picture is maybe more of a general clue.
Here are my thoughts on how to read the clue:

Grease my palm with gold: Pay to get information on/into/onto the location.
Find the heart (or maybe pride?) of this (shipping) lane (name of which is derived from picture)
at 9 oclock: on the left or direction to look.

This should be enough to reveal where I'm thinking it might be. Of course I might be way off. :D

Ade

I think we need to deduce the motive for Ade's post. The initial photograph seems to have been a mistake as it indicated a specific path a bit too obviously. So is he steering us away from the specific path to help us or is he doing it to put us off. If its the latter it might indicate that the coin is gold and he was trying to prevent it from being found too soon.

I dunno... If puzz hid the coin Ade's question may have been motivated by his own curiosity.
Most bridleway signs are blue, but this particular one also has a symbol in the middle which is specific to that route, so if you find the right one, you don't even need to have been able to read the writing on the sign, as you could on the larger picture that was posted first, and is somewhere back on this post.
If he did have further info and was trying to say it could be any bridleway, well that would open up the possibility of many hundreds of miles of routes... I just don't think that is likely, as info on any of the routes isn't exactly easy to come by.

My feeling is still that the picture is more of a word association clue, and is linked to that specific Bridleway.

And whoever hid it would have needed to be in the area to take that picture, so I suspect it is nearby.

Anyway got any thoughts on this one yet?

I went for a trek today where I thought it might be - no luck as usual!

Mind you, it was quite difficult with a push chair!

Is it time for another clue SW???
